Genetics and Genomics of Ancient, Ancestral, and Extinct Species (UPGEN 778; Module C, Section 4)
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2-3:30pm (September 23rd - October 4th)
Nanaline Duke 247
Studying the molecular changes that underlie ancestral traits has long been in
the realm of science fiction. However, recent advances, both technological and
theoretical, have allowed us to begin rigorously dissecting the molecular basis
of ancient phenotypic changes. We will cover these recent advances as well as
discuss future research in this area.
Advanced Topics in Genetics and Genomics (UPGEN 701)
Tuesdays 4pm - 5:30pm (Jan 15th - Apr 23rd)
French Science Center 4219
We will cover advanced topics in genomics as well as the art and skill of
presenting your own research in a seminar.
Foundations of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology (MGM 701)
Friday, Oct 19th at 4pm
MSRB 1, Room 001
We will be presenting the paper, "Evolution at Two Levels in Humans
and Chimpanzees" and leading a discussion.
Genome Tools and Technologies (CBB 520)
Thursday, Oct 18th at 10:05am
I will be reviewing some computational and experimental methods that have repeatedly
been useful to me in my own research.
